How it works
Nitrate from beets and leafy greens is absorbed, then cycles back into your saliva. Nitrate-reducing bacteria on the tongue convert it to nitrite, which your body goes on to use for nitric oxide. Boost delivers prebiotic nitrate right where that conversion happens, and the slow dissolve keeps it in contact with those bacteria longer than a swallowed capsule would.
Diet is still the main source. Boost is an easy addition to a plate of greens, not a replacement for one.
The study behind the formula
In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial (30 adults, 21 days, ClinicalTrials.gov NCT06029283), the prebiotic nitrate formula significantly increased nitric oxide–promoting oral bacteria and shifted the microbiome away from harmful bacteria. Plaque levels didn't change, so the effect came from what the bacteria were doing, not from removing plaque.

How to use
Let 1–4 mints dissolve slowly through the day. Don't chew or swallow them whole. If you use an antiseptic mouthwash, take Boost at a different time of day, since those rinses also reduce the bacteria that do the converting.

Per mint (62 mg proprietary blend): prebiotic nitrate (as potassium nitrate); vitamin C (as ascorbic acid), 11% DV; zinc (as zinc citrate), 9% DV; polyphenol-rich mixed berry extract (black currant, bilberry, raspberry, blue honeysuckle berry, blueberry; 20:1 extract, anthocyanin-rich).
Other ingredients: sorbitol, natural flavors, vegetarian magnesium stearate, stevia leaf extract, natural silica.

Common questions
Does Boost contain nitric oxide?
No. Nitric oxide is a gas your body makes on demand. Boost contains nitrate, the same precursor found in beets and leafy greens. Your oral bacteria and your body handle the rest.
How is this different from other nitric oxide products?
Most are swallowed and skip the mouth. Boost dissolves slowly so the nitrate spends time with the tongue bacteria that start the conversion.
Does it contain sodium nitrite?
No. Boost supplies nitrate only, and lets your own oral bacteria convert it.
Can I take it every day?
Boost is formulated as a daily dietary supplement. Check with your physician first if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or managing a health condition.
Will mouthwash or brushing interfere?
Antiseptic mouthwash reduces nitrate-reducing bacteria along with everything else, so space the two apart. Normal brushing is fine.
